In recent years, business and career mentorship has become a hot topic. Countless best-selling books have been written about it, such as Tribe of Mentors and Trillion-Dollar Coach, while employees, entrepreneurs, SMEs, and large corporations have increasingly employed mentorship programs to grow the success of their teams and companies.
So, why all the fuss about mentorship?
To start, there are compelling stats that prove mentorship provides more than internal value to mentees: it generates increases in the revenue, performance, and success of individuals and their businesses or business endeavors. Famous entrepreneurs like Bill Gates (mentored by Warren Buffett) and Sheryl Sandberg (mentored by Arianna Huffington) all hail their mentors who helped them achieve success and avoid costly mistakes in their careers.
Mentorship is valuable, both intrinsically and financially. Expertise, guidance, experience, and advice all work together to give you a leg up on your business and career goals.
Someone who has already walked your path can give you the most efficient and results-driven strategies to employ—ensuring that you don’t have to create or execute these steps alone. More importantly, it’s an investment in yourself that will last a lifetime.

Considering the great value of mentorship, it’s no surprise that FITT recently launched the FITT Global Mentorship Pilot Program. There are many successful Certified International Trade Professionals (CITP®|FIBP®) who are entrepreneurs, business leaders, and international trade experts, and we wanted to ensure they could share their wisdom and experience with eager students, entrepreneurs, employees, SMEs, and like-minded individuals who need expert guidance and support with their business or careers.
The FREE six-month virtual mentorship is open from now until May 14th. We’ll then select and publicly announce our five initial mentees who will begin their mentorship with their designated CITP mentors from June 1 – November 30, 2021.
